Google Business Profile

Post updates, offers and events to Google

Your Business Profile is what many customers see first when they search for you. Postocial schedules three kinds of posts to it.

  • Updates

Share news, new stock or changed hours with a photo and an optional button.

  • Offers with coupon codes

Promote a deal with a title, start and end dates and a coupon code customers can use.

  • Events

Announce a class, a tasting or an open day with a title and start and end dates.

  • Call-to-action buttons

Add a button for the next step. Google's options include Book, Order, Shop, Learn more, Sign up and Call.

Good to know

Google's rules for Business Profile posts

A few requirements from Google, so your posts are not rejected. Information as of . Sources: Google posts help, Google photo guidelines, Third-party length guide.

  • Google may reject a post with a phone number in the text if it cannot verify the number as yours. Use a Call button instead.
  • Photos: 720 x 720 pixels recommended, 250 x 250 minimum, JPG or PNG from 10 KB to 5 MB.
  • Text: about 1,500 characters, a figure from third-party guides; Google does not publish one.
  • Offers need a title and dates. Events need a title and start and end dates.

Unified inbox

Answer reviews, comments and messages in one place

Google reviews, Facebook and Instagram comments and messages arrive in one inbox. Add WhatsApp, SMS or a chat widget on your website, and you can answer every customer from the same screen. The inbox comes with Premium and higher plans.

  • Google Business Profile reviews next to social comments
  • A WhatsApp Business number, website live chat, and SMS through your own Twilio, Plivo or SMS gateway account
  • Saved replies for the questions you get every day
  • AI reply suggestions with your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek key, when you are short on time

Automations

Answer the usual questions and take bookings automatically

Most messages ask the same few things. On Premium and higher plans, a chatbot answers them on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and your website, books appointments and hands the chat to you when a person is needed. Meta bills WhatsApp messages to your WhatsApp Business account.

  • Opening hours, prices and directions answered by a chatbot
  • Bookings in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram chats, with reminders
  • A website chat widget that sends chats to the same inbox
  • Broadcasts for offers to customers who opted in; anyone who opts out is skipped

Planning

Let the weekly basics post themselves

Set up the posts you publish every week once: opening hours, the weekly special, a reminder to book. Repeat posts and templates handle the rest, and a CSV upload loads a whole month at once.

  • Repeat posts for regular reminders
  • Templates for your usual formats
  • A month of posts from one CSV file
  • A weekly posting queue for your workspace

FAQ

Small business questions

Can I post offers and events to Google Business Profile?

Yes. Postocial publishes updates, offers with coupon codes and events to Google Business Profile, with call-to-action buttons where Google allows them (offers get Google's own View offer button).

Can I reply to Google reviews from Postocial?

Yes, on Premium and higher plans. Google Business Profile reviews arrive in the unified inbox next to your comments and messages, so you can answer them from the same place.

Do I need a Facebook Page?

Only to post on Facebook or to run Messenger and Instagram chatbots. Postocial publishes to Facebook Pages, not personal profiles. Posting to Instagram works without a Page: connect a business or creator account with direct Instagram login. Google Business Profile and the other networks connect on their own.

Can I manage more than one location?

Yes. Each profile you connect counts as a social account, and you can group each location's profiles into a brand. Your plan sets how many you can connect: 5 on Starter, 10 on Premium, 100 on Agency and no limit on Unlimited.

Can someone else help me post?

Yes. Starter includes 2 team members. Give a helper the member role, and turn on approvals if you want to check posts before they go out.

Do I need to be online when a post goes out?

No. Postocial publishes at the time you scheduled, whether or not you are logged in.

Can customers book appointments in a chat?

Yes, on Premium and higher plans. Create a meeting type with your hours, connect Google Calendar or Zoom, and add a booking step to your chatbot. Customers pick a time without leaving the chat and get reminders.
