Beyond publishing

Messaging channels and chatbots

On Premium and higher plans, connect messaging channels to answer chats in the shared inbox, run chatbots and send broadcasts to contacts who opted in; opted-out contacts are skipped. Message only people who wrote to you first or opted in, and stop when they ask. Meta bills WhatsApp messages to your WhatsApp Business account, and your SMS provider bills each text.

FAQ

Questions about channels

Missing a network you need? Tell us at hello@postocial.com.

Which social networks can I schedule posts to?

Postocial publishes to Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, LinkedIn (profiles and pages), YouTube, X (with your own X API key), Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, Tumblr and Telegram.

Does every plan include every network?

Yes. Every plan publishes to every network on this page. Plans differ in limits such as the number of connected social accounts (5 on Starter, 10 on Premium, 100 on Agency and no limit on Unlimited), and the unified inbox, chatbots and messaging channels come with messaging on Premium and higher plans. See pricing.

Why does X need my own API key?

Postocial publishes to X only through your own X API key. You create an app in the X developer portal, pre-fund X developer credits (about $5 per 500 posts, billed by X) and add the key in Postocial. The connect X guide walks through it.

Can I post different text and media to each network?

Yes. The composer creates one post for many networks, with a separate version for each one, so every channel gets wording and media that fit it.

Which channels does the unified inbox cover?

On Premium and higher plans, it covers Instagram (comments and DMs), Facebook Pages (comments and DMs), LinkedIn (comments on page posts), YouTube (comments), Threads (replies), Google Business Profile (reviews), Bluesky (replies), Mastodon (replies) and Reddit (comments). You can also connect messaging channels: a WhatsApp Business number, a Telegram bot, SMS through Twilio, Plivo or a custom HTTP gateway, and a live-chat widget for your website. Automations can answer on those messaging channels and in Messenger and Instagram DMs, and reply to Facebook and Instagram comments; on the other networks, your team replies from the inbox.

Can I use WhatsApp with Postocial?

Yes, as a messaging channel on Premium and higher plans. Connect your WhatsApp Business number for chats in the unified inbox, a chatbot and template broadcasts to contacts who opted in; opted-out contacts are skipped. Meta bills WhatsApp messages to your WhatsApp Business account. Postocial doesn't post to WhatsApp Channels or Status.

Can clients connect their own accounts?

Yes. Send a client invite link, valid for 1 to 180 days and optionally protected by a password. Your client connects their own profiles without sharing a password, and you can group profiles by brand inside your workspace.

Can I try every network before I pay?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial that includes every network. A card is required to start the 7-day free trial. When the trial ends, we charge your card for the plan you picked, unless you cancel before.
