Which size to use
Reddit doesn’t set a size for images in posts. Image and gallery posts accept any ratio, and a gallery can hold up to 20 images or GIFs, each with an optional caption of up to 180 characters, if the community allows galleries. The square, portrait and landscape shapes in the size menu are neutral starting points, not Reddit rules.
The one size Reddit does publish is for moderators: the community banner, recommended at 1080 × 128. The minimum is 1072 × 128 on desktop and 1080 × 128 on mobile, so the recommended size covers both.
Reddit video limits

Tips for Reddit images
- Check that the community allows image or gallery posts before you make the images.
- Keep banner text short. A 128-pixel strip leaves little room.
- Give every image in a gallery the same shape so it looks consistent.
