Networks you can connect
Postocial publishes to Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, LinkedIn (profiles and pages), YouTube, X (with your own X API key), Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, Tumblr and Telegram. Here is what each one supports and what to check first.
| Network | What's supported | Before you connect |
|---|---|---|
| Business and creator accounts | Switch a personal account to a professional (business or creator) account first. Then choose Instagram (with Facebook) if it is linked to a Facebook Page, or Instagram Direct if it is not. | |
| Facebook Pages | Pages | You need permission to manage the Page on Facebook. |
| TikTok | Your TikTok account | The longest video you can post differs by account, from 3 to 10 minutes. Check yours before you schedule long videos. |
| Profiles and pages | To post as a page, you need an admin role on that page. | |
| YouTube | Channels, for videos and Shorts | Verify the channel before you schedule videos longer than 15 minutes. |
| X | Your X account | Needs your own X API key and pre-funded X credits. Set up X. |
| Threads | Threads profiles | Sign in with the profile you want to post from. |
| Boards | Pick a board for each Pin, or create one from the composer. | |
| Google Business Profile | Updates, offers with coupon codes, events and call-to-action buttons | You need to be an owner or manager of the business profile. |
| Bluesky | Bluesky accounts | Sign in with the account you want to post from. |
| Mastodon | Accounts on any Mastodon server | Have your server address ready, such as mastodon.social. |
| Subreddits, with a title and flair for each post | Read each community's rules. Many allow only some post types or require a flair. | |
| Tumblr | Blogs | If your account has several blogs, choose the one to post to. |
| Telegram | Channels and groups | Choose Telegram: Publish scheduled posts to a channel or group, and make a bot you create in @BotFather an admin that can post messages. Telegram steps. |

Messaging channels
On Premium and higher plans, messaging channels bring chats into the Unified Inbox and run your automations and broadcasts. The Facebook Pages you connect, and the Instagram accounts you connect with Instagram (with Facebook), work as Messenger and Instagram channels too. You add the others from the same Add account list:
| Channel | What it is for | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp Business | Chats, a chatbot and template broadcasts on your business number | Your WhatsApp Business number, connected through Meta |
| Facebook Messenger | Chats, a chatbot, comment replies and broadcasts on your Facebook Page | A Facebook Page you manage |
| Instagram DMs | DMs, comment replies, a chatbot and broadcasts on your Instagram account | An Instagram business or creator account linked to a Facebook Page |
| Telegram bot | Chats, automations and broadcasts through your own bot | Your own bot token from @BotFather |
| SMS | Two-way texts, SMS broadcasts and texts sent by your automations | Your own Twilio, Plivo or SMS gateway account |
| Website live chat | A chat widget on your website, answered from the inbox | Nothing extra: paste a snippet on your site |
Step by step: connect WhatsApp, or connect a Telegram bot, SMS or live chat. Each WhatsApp number you connect counts toward your plan's social accounts.
Message only people who opted in or wrote to you first, and stop when they ask: broadcasts skip opted-out contacts, and on Messenger and Instagram they reach only people who messaged you in the last 24 hours. Meta bills WhatsApp messages to your WhatsApp Business account, and texts go through your own Twilio, Plivo or SMS gateway account.
Connect an account step by step
- Open Social Accounts. Open Social Accounts in the sidebar and choose Add account.
- Pick the network. Choose the network's entry. Instagram has two: Instagram (with Facebook) for an account linked to a Facebook Page, and Instagram Direct for one without a Page. LinkedIn has LinkedIn Profile and LinkedIn Page, and Google Business Profile is listed as Google My Business. For Telegram, see which of its three entries to choose. For Mastodon, enter your server address. For X, add your API key and secret under CONFIGURE SERVICES first.
- Sign in and approve access. Sign in to the network when it asks, and approve the permissions Postocial requests. Without them, it cannot publish for you.
- Choose pages or channels. If your login manages several pages or channels, pick the ones you want to add.
- Check the account. The account now shows in your list and in the composer. If you post for several brands, add it to that brand's group in Workspace Settings > Groups.
- Send a test post. Schedule a short post a few minutes ahead and check that it appears on the network. Delete it there afterward if you don't want to keep it.
Connect a Telegram channel or group
Add account has three Telegram entries. Two publish posts, and one connects a chat bot:
| Entry in Add account | What it does | Which bot |
|---|---|---|
| Publish scheduled posts to a channel or group | Posts to a channel or group, private groups included | A bot you create in @BotFather |
| Connect your Telegram account | Posts to a channel | A shared bot. Use your own bot instead. |
| Connect a bot to chat & automate on Telegram | Chats in the Unified Inbox, automations and broadcasts, on Premium and higher plans. It doesn't publish posts. | A bot you create in @BotFather |
To publish, we recommend Publish scheduled posts to a channel or group: your posts go out through a bot you own and name, and it works for groups as well as channels.
- Create your bot. In Telegram, open @BotFather, create a new bot and copy the token it gives you.
- Make it an admin. Add the bot to your channel or group as an administrator with the Post Messages permission.
- Add it to Postocial. In Social Accounts, choose Add account, then Telegram: Publish scheduled posts to a channel or group, and paste the bot token.
- Name the channel or group. Enter its @handle or t.me link, then connect. A private group has no handle, so enter its numeric ID instead, which usually starts with -100.
- Send a test post. Schedule a short post a few minutes ahead and check that it appears in the channel or group.
Chat with people through your bot
To answer Telegram messages in the Unified Inbox and run automations, connect a chat bot with Telegram: Connect a bot to chat & automate on Telegram. Connect a Telegram bot step by step.
How many accounts your plan includes
Your plan sets how many social accounts your workspace can connect: 5 on Starter, 10 on Premium, 100 on Agency and no limit on Unlimited. Every plan includes every network. Plan changes are prorated. Billing and plans.
Let clients connect their own accounts
Managing profiles for a client? Don't ask for their passwords. In Social Accounts, choose INVITE CLIENT TO ADD PROFILE, then GENERATE INVITE, and send the client invite link. The client connects their own social profiles to your workspace.
- The link stays valid for 1 to 180 days. You choose how long.
- You can protect it with a password.
- Your client signs in to each network themselves.

Keep each brand's accounts together
All your accounts live in one workspace. If you post for several brands or clients, open Workspace Settings > Groups, choose ADD GROUP and put each one's profiles in a group of their own, so they stay together. Bulk Posts also lets you pick a group for an upload.
When a connection stops working
Networks sometimes end a connection, for example after you change your password, remove the app's access in the network's settings or lose your admin role on a page. If posts to an account start failing:
- Check that you can still manage the page or profile on the network itself.
- Connect the account again, signing in with the same login.
- Reschedule any posts that failed in the meantime.
Developers can catch this automatically: Postocial sends signed webhooks when a post fails and when an account is updated or deleted. API and webhooks guide.
